12/23/34 – 10/12/2017

Eugene Esteban Gutierrez III attended the college of San Mateo, where he attained an AA degree. He went on to get his MAI Real Estate Appraisal license.

Eugene became an MAI Appraiser in the early 1970s and owned his own business in Pasadena, Ca. He practiced in Southern California for over 40 years. After closing his business he became a probate referee in Los Angeles County until his retirement in 2012.

Eugene was musically inclined and enjoyed listening to steel drums and playing the vibes in his early years.

Eugene was passionate about his profession as an MAI Appraiser and worked hard his whole life to make sure there was always food on the table; a roof over his family’s heads and clothes on their backs. He made sure all seven of his children (6 girls and 1 boy) received the best education by sending them all to private Catholic schools. We now have supervisor’s and manager’s in our family; from a police sergeant, engineer, attorney, to CPA’s & CFO’s. All as a result of his hardwork and work ethic.

Eugene is survived by Lynette Rehkopf, Jeannine Chomyn; Eugene Esteban Gutierrez IV; Michelle Demaio; Renee’ Maslauskas-Gutierrez; Denise Gutierrez-Brown and Diane Gutierrez.  Denise and Diane are his youngest daughters and are fraternal twins.

A viewing is scheduled for December 1, 2017 from 4-8pm at Halley-Olsen-Murphy Mortuary in Lancaster, Ca. The memorial service is scheduled for December 2, 2017 at 10am at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Lancaster, Ca. His final resting place will be at Mountain View Mausoleum.
