Robert John Secor attended the University of Puget Sound, where he attained a BA degree in 1978.

RJ was a self-employed author of hiking, climbing and mountaineering books, the most notable being “High Sierras: Peaks, Passes and Trails,” as well as books/climbing guides for Denali, Aconcagua and Mexico’s volcanoes. He made significant contributions to the hiking and climbing communities.

RJ’s passion was the High Sierras and he loved hiking and climbing all over the world. He generously shared his knowledge and passion with others who treasure the outdoor experience.

Robert is survived by Lois Shefflette (aunt); Patricia Daubendiek (cousin); Nancy Shefflette (cousin); Robert Shefflette (cousin); and Joan Colgrove (cousin).
