Audrey “Toni” Smith Terrazone
February 18, 1931 – December 28, 2017
Hello, most of you may have known our mom as “Toni”, one-time waitress from Ray’s Lunch (Raymond Street/Old Town Pasadena) and others may have known her from the world of real estate. Either way – if you knew her, you knew an engaging person who smiled and laughed and understood the everyday plight. A native of Knoxville, Tennessee, she was a strong woman who burst on the California scene in 1949…right out of high school, she worked as a fashion model (Designer Don Loper) and then at times, a local carhop. While taking up residence with her sisters, she met Ralph Terrazone (Pasadena). Love was in the air and they were married in 1952. Three children later and after living in a few Pasadena locations, they finally settled in east Pasadena. After many years together the marriage eventually ended but not the love. Since her early days, Mom aspired to be a comedic actress and always had the gift of making people laugh; she had a sharp mind and a quick wit. Unfortunately, that professional part of her life never materialized but she really enjoyed people and a good story. In fact, it was hard to walk downtown Pasadena without someone stopping her on the street just to spend a few moments with her. Most evenings were spent around the kitchen table sharing her childhood days and life on a farm with 6 siblings. She was well known for her tenacity and grit – a force to be reckoned with! Always working hard and never giving up – not only did she survive the hardest of times but she conquered all that life had to bring.
We miss you everyday mom – you’re forever in our hearts.
