Looking out the window here at Mountain View once again...

Christmas evergreen tree at Mountain View

It’s December. It’s that time of year when life gets busy—busy with shopping, busy with Christmas trees, and busy with good cheer. Those special words are here again: Christmas, Hanukkah, homemade cookies, carols, and maybe even snow.

Join us in our foyer and enjoy our crackling fireplace and lovely Christmas evergreen tree. It celebrates winter and the promise of spring.

Fall colors at Mountain View Cemetery

Those fall colors that bless Mountain View and Altadena are still with us. Take a walking tour beginning just inside our Fair Oaks Avenue gate.

Explore the scenic, wintry Sunset Lawn North area and enjoy the wonderful leaves and Midwestern atmosphere.

Historic Christian artwork inside the Mountain View mausoleum

Where is one of the best places to enjoy the holidays? Bring your family or a friend and take a walk through our mausoleum on Marengo Avenue.

Its ceiling fresco tells The Story of Christianity. It is a beautiful reminder of the Reason for the Season, and the stained glass is truly inspiring.

Stop by and visit. Mountain View is open seven days a week.

Wreaths Across America ceremony at Mountain View

On Saturday, December 14, they came, they saw, and they showed their respects. The Union Daughters once again helped lead the way as Wreaths Across America 2024 honored the veterans resting here at Mountain View.

Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines, National Guard, and other service branches were represented.

Thank you to all our friends and neighbors who helped make it a meaningful and memorable day.

Norman Rockwell Saturday Evening Post illustration of Santa Claus

Christmas is a time for remembering blessings past and present. Few images capture the spirit of the season quite like Norman Rockwell’s classic Saturday Evening Post covers—a nostalgic tribute to earlier times and places.

And it’s almost here—the Rose Parade! Save us a seat on Colorado Boulevard.

Happy New Year! All our best for 2024!

  • The magic month of December has arrived. Fall is still upon us with her beautiful colors and now those magic words: Christmas. Hanukkah. Presents. More presents. Cookies.

  • It was on again. They came. They saw. They paid their respects. It was our local Daughters of the Civil War. Boy Scout cadets. Our Altadena neighbors. It was the awesome Wreaths across America. That annual, national and local placement of holiday wreaths on the graves of our fallen Veterans. Thanks everybody, for making it such a special Saturday, December 16th.

  • During this Christmas season it may be time to visit our Mother Mausoleum on Marengo Avenue. It’s all there. Stained-Glass. Architecture. Paintings, and our History of Christianity ceiling fresco. Bring a friend. Bring your family. It will be an inspiring visit. Open Seven Days.

  • Our beautiful Mountain View Christmas tree is here so you know Santa Claus and his sleigh and reindeer must be on their way. Stop by our office and enjoy the crackling fire and our folksy Midwest style of holiday smiles and cheer.

  • Nothing says Christmas and Santa more than famed Americana artist Norman Rockwell. His illustrations and magazine covers remind one of simpler times. Here’s one of his all time best looks at the nostalgia of earlier days.

Altadena, Pasadena, The Rose Bowl Parade is only days away. Save a spot or two or three on Colorado Blvd for us. See you there. Have a Happy New Year 2024.

Till we look out the window here at Mountain View once again…
