April-Looking out the window here at Mountain View once again

14 Apr 2022

  • Our-Mother-Mausoleum

The magic month of April has arrived. April means many wonderful things and events: Easter. Passover. Earth Month. Dodger baseball. There’s an awesome way to celebrate. Take a stroll through our Mother Mausoleum on Marengo Ave.

  • Sunrise-Chapel-Sistas

The Mausoleum was born in 1925 and features “The Story of Christianity” telling the tale of “The Christ” in the breath-taking ceiling fresco that took four years to finish. Rainbow-Stained Glass. To-the-sky architecture. It’s our very own Sistine Chapel and is open Seven Days.

  • The-Sun-Also-Rises

Our cemetery Sunrise Chapel celebrates the promise of Spring 2022 in all her glory. The Sunrise Chapel is one of our most popular family-service chapels and is bordered by a lovely array of Roses planted with love and care. It’s our Coat of Many Colors as the song sings.

Spring in all her glory is evident as you walk from our Sunrise Chapel and enjoy the sunshine. The chirping birds.

The over 200 species of trees. Our streets and avenues are peaceful and restful. We see more and more morning dog walkers and more and more luncheon visitors.

  • A-Place-in-the-Shade

Just inside our gate and adjoining our Columbarium is the grey door to our Drawing Room Chapel. Outside our door are a couple of inviting metal chairs and some Oak tree shade, another place of solace and reflection that our Mountain View Cemetery is so famous for. Since 1882.

  • History-Lesson

History rests here and genealogy seems all the rage. More and more families want to chronicle the family tree and all her Roots. Family stories. The ups. The downs. Every grave marker tells a history lesson. Time to pay us a visit and say hello to the ancestors. Ancestry is alive and well.

See our statuesque upright historical marker for Elizabeth W.Beebe. Born before the rumblings of the Civil War. Lived during the California Gold Rush. Imagine her life story. If you know; when you know…let us know.

Till we look out the window here at Mountain View once again…
