May-Looking out the window here at Mountain View once again

25 May 2022

  • Memorial-Day

The magic month of May 2022 has arrived. The month of May has her own special days of sunshine, and a special day to cherish and a special day to remember: Mother’s Day and Memorial Day.

  • Flower-Sistas

It was a busy Mother’s Day here at Mountain View as it always is when we celebrate our first teacher, our Mom.

Moms love flowers and we know that we love to share all our flowers with visiting Moms and Moms that rest here under our shade trees.

  • Gentle-Breezes

Whether you walk on the healthy side here in the early mornings or later afternoons, our local mountains always make it a better day with those breezes that quicken your step and make you smile. With over 200 species of trees, a walk here at Mountain View is always a walk in the park.

  • A-Woodman-Story

You can see them if you look closely. They are the historical Woodman grave markers. You’ll notice the ornate carvings of rope, a gavel, a Dove and many hidden symbols etched into every marker. It’s quite a story. Get the complete picture. Google: The Woodman Grave Markers.

  • Jacaranda-Streaming

A good way to lose that early morning May Gray and June Gloom is to look up and enjoy the rapture of our Southern California Jacaranda trees. Dreaming, or Streaming or Scheming, those purple colors are the colors of joy, a preview of Mother Nature’s summer Preview of Coming Attractions.

Short to bloom and lovely to look at, Jacaranda colors are like when you buy your kids a Baskin & Robbins ice cream cone. The colors and that melting ice cream won’t last forever. Share in the moment. Look. Smile. Enjoy.

Memorial Day is Monday, May 31st. It’s always a busy day here at Mountain View. Flags being planted. Flags being flown. Civil War Daughters. Stories to tell. Union Blue and Confederate Gray actors in costume. History walks and talks. Army. Navy. Air Force. Marines. We salute you.

Till we look out the window here at Mountain View once again…
