It’s November and fall in the air. Halloween has come and gone, and it was another fun day and early evening. We smiled as we saw the usual suspects as they did their treat and treating here in scenic Altadena. The look for Halloween 2024 seemed to be quite Marvelous. Marvelous like in Spider-Man.

It’s July and it’s hot. I guess you could say that it’s a typical July in Southern California. It’s been a hot month since back in the day when we opened our doors. It was 1882. America and California were growing by leaps and bounds and so was Altadena and Pasadena. Citrus and agriculture were becoming more and more of our Altadena landscape.

It’s June and as you enter our Fair Oaks gate, our beautiful flowers welcome you. All the colors of the rainbow seem to have been placed by an artist with flowers as his palate. That artist is Mountain View’s Sammy and he does his creative plantings long before the sun comes up.

Genesis. It all began for us here at Mountain View in 1882. Property in Pasadena changed hands and those traditional backyard graves were gently moved to their new place of rest here on Fair Oaks Avenue in Altadena.

It’s March. February came and went and so did 2024;s Valentine’s Day and that awesome Black History parade down Fair Oaks Avenue. It was a very special month with many Altadena events.

It was a special Saturday in January. January 27th. A very special chamber music Saturday with string quartet Salastina in concert inside our Mother Mausoleum on Marengo Avenue.

The magic month of December has arrived. Fall is still upon us with her beautiful colors and now those magic words: Christmas. Hanukkah. Presents. More presents. Cookies.

October has come and gone. The best day in October is of course, Halloween. And Halloween means kids and fun and candy and of course Trick-or-Treating. Every October 31st you can hear those little steps marching up and down Fair Oaks Avenue in search of Halloween goodies.

September has come and gone. It’s October and those Fall colors have begun to brighten our day and brighten our grounds here at Mountain View. Mother Nature has begun to remind us that Fall is here, and all those holidays are on their way. Take a cemetery walk on the historical side and say Hello. We’re open Seven Days.
